The Wagga Public School Way
Cultivating Kindness
The core business of Wagga Wagga Public School is shaping good human beings. Why? Because we know that good character is not something that should be left to chance. At our school, we value behaviour education as a separate learning subject, and we explicitly teach the foundations of empathy, courage, persistence and good manners. Values that we know will hold your child in good standing for the remainder of their lives.
Building Genuine Connections
A warm smile? A friendly greeting? Staff who go above and beyond? This is what you will find at our school. Staff, students and families who are lucky enough to be part of our community are dedicated to working together each day to ensure our community retains the calm, welcoming feel that we call the Wagga Public School Way. Our staff and students are proud of the culture we have here, and we know our community members are too.
Unlocking Potential
At WWPS, we place great value on both effort and achievement. We believe learning isn’t a competition; it’s a journey. That’s why our dedicated team meets students where they are, creates opportunities to empower them to follow their own path to success, and recognises the effort along the way. Here, we ensure that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our mission is to support development not only in intellectual pursuits, but also in building confidence and passion across creative, physical, and social-emotional domains.
Together is Better at Wagga Public School
Welcome from Nada Pokoney, our principal
Thanks for visiting our website. We know you’re not just choosing a school - you’re choosing the kind of person your child will grow into. It’s a big decision, and you want to feel confident that after seven years with us, your child will leave not just smarter, but kinder, more resilient, and ready for life.
At Wagga Wagga Public School children learn to take responsibility, include others, and bounce back when things get tough. Behaviour is taught like a subject, not left to chance. We embed empathy, courage, persistence and good manners into everyday learning , because we know that good character matters as much as achievement.
Of course, we are equally committed to strong academic growth.
Every classroom focuses on high expectations, evidence-based teaching, and meaningful progress.
Our students learn to challenge themselves, celebrate effort, and put their learning into action.
As the first primary school in Wagga Wagga, our history is important but what excites us most is the everyday life at WWPS and the culture we’ve created. Classrooms are calm and purposeful, teachers are consistent and caring, and families are welcomed as genuine partners in helping their children grow.
We’d love to welcome you to WWPS, show you our classrooms, and let you experience the school we’re so proud of. I’m confident that once you see it in action, you’ll love our community as much as we do.
