Additional learning support

At our school, teachers are experts in meeting the diverse learning needs of every child. Within our classrooms, we provide tailored support for students with disabilities or additional learning needs to ensure all students have the resources and assistance they need to succeed. Our classroom teachers collaborate closely with students and their caregivers to develop individualised learning plans that recognise strengths and address areas for growth. A formal diagnosis is not necessary for a child to receive support in a mainstream classroom, and assistance can begin at any stage of their schooling. While all support starts with our classroom teachers, we also have a dedicated Learning Support team to provide additional expertise and resources.

How do I know if my child needs support?

Our teachers are experts in identifying when students may need extra support. Additionally, we truly value that you, as parents, know your children best, and we encourage you to share any concerns or changes you notice. We are committed to working closely with you to ensure the best outcomes for your child.

Your child has a diagnosed disability or you or the classroom teachers has identified additional learning needs
Teachers or parents noticing changes in learning or behaviour of your child
Reviewing assessment results and learning progress indicate that additional assessment is required

What can I expect from the Learning and Support team?

If your child requires assistance from the Learning and Support team, or adjustments are being made by the classroom teacher, this will always be done in consultation with parents. When additional needs are identified or communicated during the enrolment process, you can expect support from our team. We work closely with families, teachers, and support staff to:

Our goal is to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.

Requesting external services

If your child receives support from external providers and wishes to work with them during the school day, we are able to accommodate this in most cases. To arrange for an external provider funded by the NDIS (or another individual funding scheme) to have access to your child at school, a written request from the student's parent or carer must be provided.
